Today our PhD student Nerea Bilbao Barrenetxea is giving the webinar «La ciencia del cambio climático» (The Science of Climate Change), as part of the cycle of training activities of the UPV/EHU’s Inter-University Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and Management at the Bilbao School of Engineering.
This webinar, which aims to be a meeting point for people interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the complexity of the climate system and the human impact on it, will present the tools available to science to understand the changes that are coming. The fundamentals of climate models, one of the key tools for global and regional decision-making, will be explored in depth, with emphasis on their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the consequences of climate change in some of the most vulnerable regions will be analysed: high mountain regions, as an illustrative case of the magnitude of the impacts of climate change.
